1000 Paper Cranes for Japan

The ELSA Youth Class at VCC are reading “Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes”. According to Japanese legend, if you make a 1000 paper cranes, your wish will be granted. We made 1000 paper cranes (thanks to the wonderful ELSA students and teachers at VCC) and sent them to “Students Rebuild”. “Students Rebuild” with the Bezos Foundation donated $2 for every paper crane they received to “Architecture for Humanity”, which will help Japan rebuild.

All the paper cranes will be made into a giant mosaic as a symbol of hope for Japan.

If you would like to help, OshKosh B’gosh (a children’s clothing store) will donate a piece of clothing to the children in Japan for every paper crane they receive.
